In 2024, Clinton, Louisiana celebrated 200 years since its founding in 1824. So I thought I would commemorate the birthday by painting the town's most iconic building the East Feliciana Parish Courthouse. I was honored that the painting was chosen as the official poster art for the town's 200th anniversary celebration.
The East Feliciana Parish courthouse was built in 1840 and is the oldest working courthouse in the state. While it is not quite as old as the town itself, it has been there for a while and is symbolic of the town and parish.
